Case Details

At two years after microtia reconstruction, this patient shows the long-term result of a complex, multi-stage reconstruction of the right ear. Rib cartilage was used to support and elevate the reconstructed ear framework, while specialized tissue and skin grafts provided coverage and helped create natural projection from the head. The result is a newly reconstructed ear with defined contours, improved projection, and a shape that more closely mirrors the opposite ear.
